Electronic Resources


The Library subscribes to over 1,300,000 e-books provided by ebrary, MyiLibrary, Gale Virtual Reference Library, SpringerLink e-Books, Books 24×7, Chinamaxx and China Digital Library etc, allowing users to access them via the Library Catalogue 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.


The Library subscribes to more than 190 reference, citation, full-text and full-image electronic databases, which are very useful for searching journal articles, newspaper articles, research papers, etc. They are available at the Library Website and major e-databases can be accessed remotely by students and staff 24 hours a day, 7 days a week from any location.


The Library provides to its users more than 49,200 e-journals with full text and searchable interface, covering subject areas from arts and humanities to science and technology. Prominent e-journal platforms include ScienceDirect, Wiley Online Library, SpringerLink, JSTOR, Taylor & Francis Online, Cambridge Journals Online, Oxford Journals, SAGE Journals Online and China Academic Journals.


Online reference tools such as Blackwell Reference Online, Britannica Online, Credo Reference, Oxford English Dictionary and Oxford Reference Online are available at the Library Website.


The Library subscribes to WiseNews and Factiva, providing online access to over 1,000 newspapers and news agencies from Hong Kong, China, Taiwan and overseas.

EdUHK Research Repository

The EdUHK Research Repository includes bibliographic citations of the publications of EdUHK staff, including journal articles, monographs, chapters and research reports. It aims to support research by collecting, storing and making available all University scholarly publications, enabling staff members to keep track of their own research publishing, view research work in other fields in the University, and to improve the visibility and profile of the University research overall.

The Library subscribes to NetLanguages IELTS , Road to IELTS and Powerspeak Languages for language learning and IELTS preparation.


EdVideo is a video-on-demand service which features education related issues and current affairs programmes from ATV, ETV, RTHK and TVB.

EdLINK Citation Linker and bX Article Recommendation Service

Use the Citation Linker to locate whether full text for a particular article is available online via one of our subscribed electronic resources. The associated EdLINK screen is equipped with the bX Article Recommendation Service which works like the recommendation services in online shopping websites like Amazon – it will recommend similar articles based on what other scholars also read along with the article you are looking for..

Article Alert

Through the subscription of the Alert Service, notifications of newly published journal articles on specific topics generated by the Library’s subscribed e-databases can be automatically sent to users on a regular basis.
