Library goes cashless on 3 July 2023Starting 3 July 2023, the Library no longer accepts cash payments at counters. Payments to the Library can be made through various e-payment systems including Octopus, Visa, Mastercard, JCB, BoC Pay, Alipay, WeChat Pay and Union Pay. Upgrades to library services and facilitiesIn this summer, the Library has upgraded a wide range of facilities to better support student learning which include new charging tables for tablets; new power outlets with USB power outlets on most study tables; new large 4K monitors, PCs, and more powerful notebooks in Discussion Zone; high-end notebooks with 2K monitors in VAM Production Centre and Creative Lab; PCs or notebooks at all Study Carrels on 4/F, etc. Read More… |

New Publication
This book chronicles the history of Wan Chai, the Eastern District and the Southern District on Hong Kong Island from three viewpoints – population growth, urban planning and industrial development – giving a glimpse of Hong Kong’s development from a small fishing port to a modern metropolis. The book discusses how schools were built near public and private housing estates, and the need for additional educational resources in all districts of Hong Kong due to urban development and population growth. Transformative Agreement with Cambridge University PressEdUHK Library has entered into a transformative agreement (TA) with Cambridge University Press (CUP) to promote open access publication of scholarly research. Through the TA, EdUHK members can not only access full-text contents of CUP journals like traditional subscriptions, academic colleagues of the University can also publish open access articles in CUP journals with article processing charges waived. Results of recent surveys2023 JULAC LibQUAL+ Survey : In collaboration with JULAC, i.e. all 8 UGC-funded university libraries, EdUHK Library has conducted the 5th JULAC LibQUAL+ online survey on 1 to 31 March 2023 to assess different aspects of library services and resources. 1,602 valid responses were received. While full results with data from all 8 JULAC libraries will not be available until late 2023, preliminary summary report of EdUHK Library has been announced on 18 May 2023. MMW Library opening hours extended to 10pm on Saturday during term timeJust a reminder, starting from 12 August 2023, the opening hours on Saturdays for 1/F to 4/F have been extended from 08:30-19:00 to 08:30-22:00. Closing time of all library counters remains unchanged at 19:00. |
