Goals & purposes:
Upon completion of this unit, students will be able to
(1) recognize the basic steps of selecting a topic for your honours or capstone project
(2) prepare the question(s) underlying the topic of your honours or capstone project; and
(3) understand the difference between quantitative and qualitative questions.
Summary:
This online unit is about the basic steps of identifying a topic and questions, including brainstorming the ideas, doing some background research on your initial ideas, expressing the topic in terms of specific objectives, and defining the topic as a question or a series of questions.
