Enriching students' engagement and inspiration in self-learning with latest simulation technology: Environmental site visit with Thinglink virtual tour package
Goals & purposes:
Experience fieldtrips through Virtual Reality (VR) technologies: learn about different places and ideas by experiencing them as if they were actually there
Summary:
This package includes two case studies on Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA): Kennedy Town Stonewall Trees and Long Valley (Sheung Shui). Virtual Tours of the two locations and different project related information/documents were provided at the package for students to study the details of the cases. The information includes VR tours, photos, videos, maps, EIA reports and links to official websites, which aims to provide an immersive experiences to the students. After participating in the virtual tours and studying the information, students would work on their assessment to identify possible issues and solutions with comparison to different aspects and views (ie. social, environment, economic, etc.).
