This page is developed as a tool to identify some influential journal titles in different disciplines. It provides information to identify and compare the status, citation frequency and impact of a range of leading English and Chinese journals useful for research evaluation.

InCites Journal Citation Reports includes citation data drawn from approximately 12,000 scholarly and technical journals and conference proceedings from more than 3,300 publishers in over 60 countries. It covers almost all specialties in science, technology, and the social sciences and enables the evaluation and comparison of journals to identify the top ranked and highest impact journals in a particular field.InCites Journal Citation Reports listing impact factors for a number of journals; but not every journal is analysed by JCR. If you cannot find the journal title from JCR, please try other sources.
The Web of Science consists of citation databases containing the references cited by the authors of the articles. You can use these references to do cited reference searching. This type of search allows you to find articles that cite a previously published work. Social Sciences Citation Index includes over 2,400 journals across 50 social sciences disciplines with all cited references captured from indexed articles. Arts & Humanities Citation Index contains over 1,300 arts and humanities journals with all cited references captured from indexed articles.

Scopus is an abstracting and indexing database that includes 18,000 peer-reviewed journal titles in the social sciences, health sciences, life sciences and physical sciences. Apart from getting extensive inter-disciplinary access to journal articles, the database also contains cited references to articles from 1996 onwards. Using citation tracker from the database, a selected journal could be evaluated by looking at its citation counts in the recent year.
The SCImago Journal & Country Rank is a portal that includes the journals and country scientific indicators developed from the information contained in the Scopus database (Elsevier B.V.). The SCImago Journal Rank (SJR) indicator shows the visibility of the journals contained in the Scopus database from 1996, and the H index quantifies both journal scientific productivity and scientific impact. These indicators could be used to assess and analyze scientific domains.
The Excellence in Research for Australia (ERA) initiative is developed by the Australian Research Council (ARC). It assesses research quality within Australia’s higher education institutions using a combination of indicators and expert review by committees comprising experienced, internationally-recognised experts. The ARC has released the full ERA 2010 Ranked Journal List.

ERIH has been under development under the leadership of the European Science Foundation Standing Committee for the Humanities since 2002. The ERIH is the only Reference Index created and monitored by European scientists both for their own purposes and in order to reveal their ongoing research achievements to the rest of the world in a systematic way. It is a unique peer-review project that is subject to continual revision and development. In particular, in the context of a world dominated by publication in English, it highlights the vast range of world-class research published by humanities researchers in various European languages.
Ulrichsweb Global Serials Directory is a comprehensive source of bibliographic and publisher information on more than 300,000 periodicals of all types–academic and scholarly journals, open access publications, peer-reviewed titles, popular magazines, newspapers, newsletters, and more from around the world.
學術引用文獻資料庫 (Academic Citation Index，簡稱ACI) 是以臺灣地區出版期刊，所建置的引用文獻資料庫。目前提供期刊文獻查詢、引用文獻查詢及各學門、期刊引用數據統計概況分析等功能。ACI中收錄了所有臺灣社會科學引文索引資料庫 (Taiwan Social Science Citation Index，簡稱TSSCI) 之期刊，與臺灣人文學引文索引 (Taiwan Humanities Citation Index，簡稱THCI) 中的核心期刊 (THCI Core)，除此之外，還另外收錄了許多臺灣地區所出版的重要期刊，目前共超過400種期刊，收錄年代自1956年起至2009年不等，更新頻率為月更新．所有期刊依其主題區分為19學門，分別為教育學門、圖資學門、體育學門、歷史學門、社會學門、經濟學門、綜合類、人類學門、中文學門、外文學門、心理學門、法律學門、哲學學門、政治學門、區域研究及地理學、管理學門、語言學門、藝術學門、傳播學門。
中國社會科學研究評價中心提供中文社會科學引文索引 (CSSCI) 來源期刊、擴展版來源期刊及來源集刊目錄。
