New “EdVideo” Video-on-Demand System

The Library’s EdVideo video-on-demand system (https://edvideo.lib.eduhk.hk) has been providing online contents of local TV programs to the EdUHK community for over 20 years. To better meet the current teaching and learning needs of our students and staff, the Library has totally revamped EdVideo and migrated it to a new site which supports different desktop and mobile platforms.

While the old EdVideo only supported basic “word/phrase” searches, the new EdVideo offers more diversified searching and filtering functions such as “date”, “sort” and “status” which can improve the accuracy of search results. Other new features include thumbnails of popular TV programs from different TV stations on the front page, displaying sequence numbers of episodes, and improved display of individual episodes, all of which will make searching and watching TV and other video programs on EdVideo much more user-friendly.
