With effect from Wednesday, 1 February 2023, staff and students will be required to login with their EdUHK account for both on-campus and remote access of online resources provided by the Library.
This new arrangement supported by the Library Management Committee will enable the Library to assess cost-effectiveness of our online resources by better understanding usage patterns of different user categories. It is also a security enhancement to prevent excessive downloading and other abuses of online resources by individual users, which may result in service suspension by copyright owners.
Staff and students will be asked to login when they first access an online resource for each web session. As long as the web browser is not closed, users will not be asked to login again when they search a different database or access another e-book/e-journal subscribed by the Library.

EdUHK staff and students can make secure connection from their home computer to the campus network with Virtual Private Network (VPN). After successfully install and login to the EdUHK VPN, users should be able to access the articles via Library iSearch. In addition, Most of the library online resources can be directly access as if you are searching on campus without asking to login again.

via Non-EdUHK Network
Library’s remote access allows authorized Library users to access our electronic resources, which is restricted for use by the University community, via non-EdUHK ISPs. Users will be prompted to enter their EdUHK Network user names and passwords when they select the databases on the Library webpage for authentication purpose.
To comply with the licence requirements of the databases, remote access is only provided to students and staff of the University. All Library External Members are excluded.
