Hong Kong Education Image Database Revamped
The Library and Hong Kong Museum of Education (HKME) are pleased to present the new “Hong Kong Education Image Database”. The design, structure, navigation and functionality have been optimized for enhanced user-friendliness. Major new features include:
- New responsive web design supporting most desktop and mobile devices
- Improved search functions
- Filtering of search results
- Keyword highlights in search results
- Social media sharing
Jointly developed by the Library and HKME in 2011, the “Hong Kong Education Image Database” collects and organizes images of artefacts, photos, manuscripts, printed materials, etc. relating to education in Hong Kong. It not only supports learning, teaching and research on Hong Kong education, but also preserves HKME collections in digital formats. International museum standards have been adopted for the cataloguing and creation of metadata. Images and their metadata can be accessed online globally by anyone interested in education in Hong Kong.
