UV Book Sterilizers and Enhancements to Self-service Stations at EdUHK Library

We are pleased to announce that both self-borrowing and self-return* of books are now supported by Self-service Stations at Mong Man Wai Library (MMW) on Tai Po Campus and Tseung Kwan O Study Centre Learning Commons (TKO). While you can return borrowed books using the bookdrops as usual, by returning books at a Self-service Station your loan quota will be released immediately. You may also choose to print a receipt of the returned books at the Station.

Meanwhile, we have also installed two UV book sterilizers on G/F and 2/F at MMW and one at TKO. These sterilizers are specially designed for killing germs with UV. Up to six regular-sized books can be sterilized at one time in each machine.

* The self-return function is still in pilot stage. All non-book items and certain types of books such as extreme oversize books, books with accompanying materials kept at counter, non-EdUHK Library books (including HKALL books), serials current issues, media, etc. must be returned at counter. In addition, books from a different location can only be returned via counter or bookdrop (e.g. returning a TKO book at MMW and vice versa).
