Library Special Opening Arrangements (Updated on 8/4/2020)

In view of the latest development of the COVID-19 situation, the following library facilities have been temporarily closed for open access in order to minimize close contacts and risk of infection:

Media Production Lab (3/F) Language Learning Room (3/F) Group Discussion Rooms (1/F) (converted into Temporary Recording Rooms)
SEN Study Rooms/Faculty Reading Rooms (1/F) Creative Lab (Pilot Future Classroom)*(G/F) High back benches at the Lounge (G/F)
Double and four-seat study tables at the 7 x 24 Learning Centre (G/F) EI Hub (LP/F) All study tables on 3/F and selected study places on other floors

* Academic staff and students can continue to book the Creative Lab (Pilot Future Classroom) for for filming and production of teaching materials.

Call-for-service mode under which counter services are provided upon request by phone will be continued.  While self-service machines can handle most of the transactions, counter staff will continue to work in the back offices to provide onsite support whenever needed during counter service hours.  Special Service Hours of Mong Man Wai Library on Tai Po Campus that have been implemented since Tuesday, 24 March 2020 will also continue:

Tseung Kwan O Study Centre Learning Commons and its book drop will continue to be closed.   Services and opening hours of MMW Library and TKOSC Learning Commons will resume normal when classes resume on campus.

For Alumni Members and External Members: Due to the growing risk of COVID-19 infection, with effect from Wednesday, 25 March 2020 and until further notice, the Mong Man Wai Library will be open to staff and students of the University only. Visits by Alumni Members and External Members will be suspended during the period. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.

** Library users must put on surgical masks and maintain at least 1.5 metre distance from each other when staying inside the Library **
