Service Enhancement: Integration of HKALL, Inter-library Loan & Document Delivery Service in iSearch

We are pleased to introduce the enhanced HKALL + Interlibrary Loan (ILL) + Document Delivery Service. With effect from 30 January 2024, EdUHK students and staff can request journal articles, books and book chapters from other libraries directly in iSearch without logging into another ILL system. They can also track the progress and download the requested articles and book chapters under their accounts in MyLibrary.

Users eligible for HKALL and / or ILL service may see one or both of the following request buttons after they login to iSearch for them to make requests for books, book chapters and journal articles that are not available at EdUHK Library:

Once a request is made, its progress can be easily found in MyLibrary. A “DOWNLOAD” button will appear when softcopy of the requested article / book chapter is available:

E-mail notifications will be sent to users when physical items (both HKALL & ILL books) are delivered to EdUHK Library and ready for pick-up.

Users with ILL privilege can continue to login to ILLiad system (the legacy ILL system) until 6 May 2024 so they can review their request history, track and retrieve delivered documents for ILL requests made before 30 January.  However new ILL requests will no longer be accepted via ILLiad.
