Enhancements of Spaces & Facilities at MMW Library
This comprehensive spatial improvement project was designed to support the increasing needs for library spaces and facilities by students and staff in the new academic year by implementing systematic upgrades across all six floors of MMW Library. As a result, it delivers a 22% increase in seating capacity, a 24% expansion in computing facilities, as well as major improvements in learning and teaching environments including totally revamped Creative Lab and Flexi Zone, two new Discussion Zones, refurnished Research Commons with new Study Carrels and Study Booths, new individual Study Tables on different floors, etc.

After: Removal of cabinet and storeroom, upgraded AV control system, rearranged PTZ cameras, digital ceiling mic-arrays, 98″ interactive LCD panel, etc.

Before: Wooden moveable partitions with windows
After: Double-glazed acoustic moveable partitions
2/F – Reading Area
Before: Study tables in different sizes with limited power outlets; entry level computing stations
After: Redesigned single Study Tables, each equipped with 3-side partitions, 13A AC and USB-A/C DC power outlets; high-end PC workstations; new Discussion Zone

After: 54 fully-enclosed Study Booths + 32 semi-enclosed Study Carrels + 18 sofas. All new Study Booths and Study Carrels are equipped with high-end notebooks, 13A AC and USB-A/C DC power outlets
