Research Services

Developed in collaboration with the Committee for Research and Development (CRD), Library Research Services offer a comprehensive range of services to support your research needs when embarking on a project or publication. The services are available on a personalized basis, and can be adapted to help you undertake preliminary research into a topic, frame research questions, track existing research in a given field, and to support you throughout a research project.  To submit the Research Services request.

Library Research Services consist of:

Research Consultation

Librarians in the Academic and Learning Support Section are available on call to discuss your research needs with you, either in person, by phone or email. The Library can advise on the range of available resources which are most pertinent to your research inquiry, and can assist in designing the most appropriate database search strategies. When you first make a research inquiry with the Library, you will be assigned an Librarian with appropriate subject expertise, who will continue to work with you for the duration of your research project.

Please contact your Departmental Librarians for further details.

Literature Searches

The Library provides access to over one hundred bibliographic and full-text databases in English and Chinese in most education-related fields. Your assigned Librarian will work with you on designing a search strategy for your topic, and if preferred can also undertake a literature search of databases on your behalf, to ensure that you are covering the full range of print and electronic resources available.

In addition, our librarians will maintain regular contact with you to review the literature search and continue to retrieve more relevant resources for you as your project progresses.

Please submit your Online Search request.

Document Delivery Services

When books and journal articles are not available electronically or in print form in the EdUHK Library collections, the Library can request them on your behalf through its Document Delivery or Inter-Library Loans services.
