As a staff member, I can only book six sessions for the library facilities. Can this be increased? Since users can maintain a maximum of six 2-hour bookings of library facilities at any time, and make a new booking once a session is finished, there is no plan to increase the booking quota.
4楼预约的乱象很明显,很多人约了但是都没来坐,希望可以设置该时间段,学生来不来要提前15分钟打卡,没有打卡就当做不来,可以让给别人Comments noted. A booking session will be cancelled automatically by the system if a user failed to check-in within the compulsory check-in period. We also encourage users to check-out and release the session if they finish using it before the session ends.
If the use is over but the appointment time has not passed, you can cancel it by yourself and give it to someone in need.
lp的椅子太脏了!!请重视这个问题!We will continue to work closely with Estates Office to monitor and maintain cleanliness in the Library premises but library users’ cooperation in keeping library space and facilities clean and tidy is of utmost importance.
增加张贴海报:使用完座位后请保持清洁
建议增加打扫图书馆洗手间频率,近年来教大扩招,使用图书馆人数增加,相应的清洁频率也要提高。前两年我使用图书馆厕所都是无异味,现在我只去4楼的厕所,因为那个厕所没味道。建议加强清洁!We would like to emphaise that high usage does not necessarily entail poorer hygience, as far as all users exercise care and be considerate of others when using the public facilities. We appreciate the additonal support by Estates Office and the hardworking of the cleaners who start cleanning up all public areas from 7 am every morning. On the other hand, we are disappointed with the selfishness of individual users who showed no consideration for others by dumping garbages into the toilets or messing up the areas including sinks and floors during their visits.

We will continue to work closely with Estates Office to monitor and maintain cleanliness in the Library premises but library users’ cooperation in keeping library space and facilities clean and tidy is of utmost importance.

圖書館安靜區域裡面的東南亞學生太吵了,說笑超級大聲,目中無人,提醒也不聽
寧靜區偶爾會有人大聲講話,提示后也不改正,有一點點影響學習。如果還有更加顯眼的警示“請勿大聲喧嘩”就好了。
希望g層自习区域能够再安静一些
有人在安靜區大聲說話,我應該怎麼辦?希望圖書館能給出引導。另外,3樓mini theater經常有人在裡面上課,但是這些人離開時會大聲聊天、交談,有時還不記得關門,他們的行為給安靜區的人造成困擾。希望圖書館可以給出引導提示。

服务台都没了Information Counter and Circulation Counter have been combined to form the new Service Counter on G/F, allowing the Library to consolidate all user services into one convenient point.

能否提供多些for博士生的隔音房間/座位,或者開放給博士生多一些booking quota,edd同學沒有專門辦公位,只能每日預約圖書館位置辦公學習。To better meet their needs, we’ve extended the advance booking period for Zone A (Research Commons, 4/F) for research postgraduate students (PhD, EdD, MPhil) and Post-doctoral Fellows — from 14 days to 28 days, and the booking quota from 6 to 18 slots — effective since October 2025. We would also like to clarify that library spaces are set up for learning and study, and hence should not be mixed up with office spaces.

Reserve and pick up services : students should be able to reserve and borrow the book from Tai Po Campus and pick up once the book are ready at the pick up station, given that the book could be already at the Tai Po Campus library, but this would help the effectiveness of borrowing book. Library users should pick up the books available on shelf by themselves. Book fetching service is not a cost-effective use of human resources.
需要预定的位置总有人不预定就去坐,有时候人在座位上还可以向她说明这个座位已经被预定了,但是有人把私人物品(包括电脑)放在桌上,一个多小时将近两个小时都没回来,我们预定的座位也无法使用,很无奈。还有不止一次有人在quiet zone打电话或者声音外放(声音很大)看视频,周围同学都很受影响,无法学习。希望在这两个方面加强管理If your reserved seat is occupied by unattended belongings, or if you encounter noise or other disturbances, please report to the Service Counter for immediate assistance.
Greater attention should be paid to the safety of personal belongings in the library.While CCTV cameras are installed in public areas to enhance safety and security on library premises, it remains the users' sole responsibility to take care of their personal belongings. Users should not leave personal items unattended and should use the short-term lockers provided by the Library for temporary storage when needed.

希望加强安全管理,自从听到iPad盗窃事件但是却没能抓到肇事者,让人很失望很害怕
很好,但希望加强安保措施。听闻不少图书馆贵重物品失窃消息

有人偷東西,這件事情為什麼不能解決?為什麼東西被偷竊 沒有權利看監控?(這不是本人的問題,是其他同學發生的情況),讓我現在每天在圖書館都很不安,短暫的去廁所都很害怕電腦被偷
1楼味道很大Ceiling ventilation ducts have been modified last summer, more air purifiers with SmellGREEN gel have been installed, carpet and stained chairs are regularly cleaned to eliminate the odor. The Library will continue to work closely with Estates Office to improve the situation. However, we do notice body odors from individuals especially in hot weather which cannot be eliminated instantly by any air-conditioning, ventilation or even purification system.

There is a noticeable unpleasant odor on the first floor, especially the area near group discussion rms. I would appreciate if Lib can look take measures to improve the air quality.

有d staff有種「事不關己,高高掛」起既冷漠感,例如臨近考試週有一日路過有個女仔係度喊得好大聲,竟然冇員工去問候,最後靠同學之間去關心,夠曬冷漠
有个咨询台员工每天像欠了她几百万一样,凶不拉几的,没有一点人情味
部分職員不理世事點問都答唔清楚
非常不喜歡圖書舘一位[personal description removed] 女工作人員,曾經有一回我因為忘記借書,在圖書舘上完晚上的課程直接離開圖書舘,結果報警器響了。這位工作人員衝出來抓住我,不給我任何解釋的時間,就讓我站在原地不准動,連說話都不給我說,這種把學生當成小偷的態度實在讓人心寒,不知道人文關懷體現在哪裏?
