I’m surprised that many recently published AI, STEAM, and STEM titles are not purchased proactively and only become available after requests are submitted. I’m unclear about the library’s purchasing and selection policy; consequently, I often need to use interlibrary loan and submit requests for digital copies. Thank you.	Thank you for your feedback. With inputs from academic staff, the Library has been acquiring recently published AI, STEAM, and STEM titles to support teaching and research needs. Given the fast pace of publishing in these fields, some titles may not be immediately available. Ineffectiveness of the EdUHK research repository, while the system frequently displays the search results for various articles, it consistently fails to provide the full text	Thank you for your feedback. However, as the Repository is designed to showcase the complete research output of EdUHK researchers to the public, it includes a wide range of materials, such as conference papers, unpublished works, and publications that may only be available in print or are restricted by publisher copyright. 要切換searching engine去使用database, such web-of-Sci etc, 很麻煩。	Thank you for your feedback. In addition to searching via the Library’s iSearch or selecting specific databases (e.g. Web of Science) from the Database A–Z page, users are encouraged to install the LibKey Nomad browser extension (https://libguides.eduhk.hk/remote-access/nomad). LibKey Nomad helps streamline access by automatically alerting users when a journal article found on a publisher’s website is available through an EdUHK‑subscribed database. It provides direct access links or guidance without the need to manually switch between search engines or databases, making the research process more convenient.
Some of the collections related to Hong Kong education could only be borrowed from HKU special collections, which is quite challenging.	Thank you for sharing this experience. Special Collections of HKU Libraries has been collecting materials on Hong Kong history for decades, including some unique donations, and many of these materials are not available elsewhere. Access restrictions are imposed by HKU Libraries to protect and preserve such rare and valuable historical items. We will look for ways to better support research needs, such as identifying alternative resources or offering additional assistance to make inter-library access as smooth as possible.

The Library regularly reviews and updates its collections and is strengthening areas such as classroom management by acquiring more recent titles. Meanwhile, we would like to remind users that the Library has adopted an e-priority policy for over a decade and therefore most new purchases are only available in e-book format. Take books with the subject "class management" as an example, out of 465 book titles published between 2020 and 2026 in our collection, only 55 titles are available in print format.

更新中學教科書最新版本	Secondary school textbooks are reviewed and updated annually in accordance with the latest EDB recommended book list. Older editions that remain on the current EDB list will continue to be retained in the School Textbooks Collection to support teaching and learning needs.
Can the updates on new publications be faster? I noticed that it could take more than a week or longer to search newly published papers.	Thank you for your feedback. The availability and update timing of newly published papers largely depend on individual publishers’ release schedules and how quickly their content is indexed by databases. To help users stay informed more promptly, many major databases offer article alert services. 登入圖書館後，如果打開了VPN（為了使用GPT和Gemini），就無法訪問電子資源，提示需要刪除cookie，但是並不奏效，關閉VPN才可以繼續訪問，造成了一些使用上的麻煩，希望可以解决。	Thank you for sharing your experience. EdUHK staff and students should be able to login and use Library's e-resources while they are using EdUHK GenAI with EdUHK SSLVPN turned on. However, access to Library's e-resources while using a third-party VPN is not supported, as it may interfere with the Library’s authentication system and result in access errors. In such cases, deleting cookies may not resolve the issue. To ensure uninterrupted access to electronic resources, we recommend using EdUHK SSLVPN or disabling third-party VPN when using Library services. If the problem persists or you require further assistance, please feel free to contact the Library for support.
