Some academic papers published by EdUHK scholars are displayed on the EdUHK Research Repository along with the paper summary but full access to the papers were not found. It might be a bit confusing to readers sometimes.A link to the full text in EdUHK-subscribed database or a link to a copyright-cleared version of a particular work will be included in EdUHK Research Repository whenever available. But since EdUHK Research Repository aims to showcase all research works of EdUHK researchers to the public, it is designed to include all kinds of research outputs, no matter they published or not (such as conference papers), as well as articles or books that may only be available in print format. Library colleagues will continue to work with the authors to clear copyright of their works as far as possible.

EdUHK colleagues and students may also use our Document Delivery Service at https://www.lib.eduhk.hk/ill/ to request for soft copies of journal articles or book chapters not available in the Library from our partner libraries, delivery of which usually will only take 2 to 3 working days.
Without full text provided at the Research Repository. It can't help.
Lack of books/masterpieces of Chinese Literature on the shelfComments noted and will be further reviewed.

Instead of acquiring physical books, the Library has acquired or subscribed to various electronic databases on Chinese Classics such as 《中華經典古籍庫》,《中國基本古籍庫》, 《文淵閣四庫全書》, 《四部叢刊》, 《漢籍電子文獻資料庫》, 《中華再造善本資料庫》, 《漢達文庫》, 《尚儀近代華文書籍暨圖像資料庫》, 《民國時期期刊全文資料庫》, 《晚清期刊全文數據庫》.

In addition, EdUHK colleagues and students are welcome to submit recommendations of specific titles at https://www.lib.eduhk.hk/recommend/.
很多兒童圖書都已年代久遠, 一些較新的系列沒有在圖書館裏找到, 例如Reading with Phonics Collection, The Usborne Reading Collection/series etc. 另外, 部份教學用書如果沒有新版也很殘舊。Comments noted and will be further reviewed. EdUHK colleagues and students are welcome to submit recommendations of specific titles at https://www.lib.eduhk.hk/recommend/.

Meanwhile, please note that teachers' editions of local school textbooks are usually not for sale and have been provided to the Library at the publishers' discretion. It is therefore difficult, if not impossible, for the Library to request for free replacements of damaged teachers' editions from the publishers.
1. Would be useful to have more ebooks downloadable, such as the Ebscohost eBook Collection

速度有點慢,但非常喜歡新增的數據庫,很有用Comments noted with thanks.
Although the collections do not include most of the medical science related to to my research and teaching focus, I appreciate the fast and ease the library has offered to look for the publications through other university libraries. I have benefitted a lot from the previous interlibrary loan and hope to continue to do so when the library revamp the interlibrary loan.Comments noted with thanks.

The revamped interlibrary loan service in iSearch which integrates HKALL, Inter-library Loan & Document Delivery Service has already been launched since 30 January 2024, allowing eligible users to request for journal articles, books and book chapters from other libraries directly in iSearch without logging into another ILL system. They can also track the progress and download the requested articles and book chapters directly under their accounts in MyLibrary.

To achieve higher circulation and turnover, the Library has adopted an e-priority policy since 2013. If a book is available in electronic format, e-book will be purchased instead of the print version, unless the recommending academic staff specified to acquire print copies. Thus, most new books purchased in recent years will only be available in electronic format.
資源太少,難跟本地其他大學比較Comments noted. EdUHK colleagues and students are welcome to submit their recommendations of specific titles at https://www.lib.eduhk.hk/recommend/.

Mindful of the fact that our regular recurrent funding resources may not be comparable with other larger scale university libraries, the Library strategically focuses more on securing users' access to required resources instead of ownership of specific materials. We have therefore established deep collaborations with sister libraries, through which EdUHK students and colleagues can easily and seamlessly request and receive library resources from all UGC-funded institution libraries as well as other partner libraries via our HKALL, Inter-library Loan and Document Delivery Services.

Furthermore, with strong support from the University, the Library has been awarded significant amount of additional funding in recent years for acquiring essential materials particularly for new academic programmes as well as new research areas of the University, the positive outcome of which is reflected in the record high rating of all kinds of library resources in this 2024 survey. In addition, the 2023 LibQUAL+ survey results also revealed that the normalized rating of EdUHK Library collections ranked 4th among all 8 UGC-funded institution libraries.

部分电子书籍需要再次登录图书馆账号EdUHK colleagues and students usually only need to login once in order to access online resources provided by the Library. However, some publishers require users to create personal accounts on their own platform in order to borrow ebooks for offline reading, to set up customized bookmark list, search commands, e-mail alerts, etc. In such occasions, EdUHK users may need to login to EdUHK Library first in order to access resources on a particular platform, and then login separately to that platform for additional services.
希望馆藏资源能够同款多份,很多时候相应的图书只有一两本,很容易无法借阅For high-demand items such as course reading materials, we are already purchasing up to 10 copies of required textbooks and 6 copies of recommended readings for EdUHK courses, depending on their class size. In addition, we have adopted an e-priority policy under which e-books will be purchased whenever available.

不准飲食With the support of Library Management Committee (LMC), the Library has implemented a one-year trial to allow drinks in all library areas. The trial is well received by library users and hence we plan to implement it permanently, pending for further consultation with LMC. Food is also allowed in areas designated by the Librarian, which currently include The Lounge on G/F and EI Hub on LP/F of MMW Library.

For details, please refere to our Food and Drink Policy at https://www.lib.eduhk.hk/about/policies-regulations/food-and-drink-policy.
圖書館其實有很多同一內容,但不同年份版本的書。會否考慮把較舊的版本捐贈予其他圖書館或有需要的部門,以增加空間?Yes, it is already our regular practice to review and withdraw excessive copies of older editions or low-usage materials at least on an annual basis. All academic departments will be invited to review the shortlisted materials and they may recommend the Library to retain particular copies or to transfer selected titles to their departmental offices. Relevant external parties including schools and NGOs will also be invited to select books which may still be useful for their libraries.
